Why was my account deactivated?
Our Slack grew a bit too big. Signal to noise ratio deteriorated as the number of people added grew into the thousands.
It's hard to share openly if you feel like you're in a room full of strangers, so we're shrinking things back down in order to build a more intentional community.
This week is the last phase of our hard-reset. All members marked by Slack as inactive have been manually removed. We are now manually re-adding:
  1. All paying members (including grandfathered-in Founders' Club accounts).
  1. Anyone who replies to this email and asks to be re-activated.
Our goal is more focused conversation with more regulars and less short-term guests.
Going forward we'll be pruning the Slack regularly and removing inactive accounts on a monthly basis. In order to keep your account active in the future you'll need to either:
  1. Post in Slack at least once every other week.
  1. Become a paying member of the community.
